...help being optimistic. Just in terms of time, the 30-year span is an improvement compared to the 1918-1939 period. I think there is also an improvement in that we seem to have mechanisms that work better. The United Nations and other organizations, imperfect as they are, seem to have accomplished a great deal more than the League of Nations.
