According to Spears, a funeral-home proprietor who has been on the commission for the past 16 years, the commission plans to continue operating as usual in the upcoming months.
Before serving on the election commission Spears worked as a poll clerk for 16 years, she said.

Spears said this is the last term she plans to seek as a commissioner.
