Despite all the spectacular activity against cancer evident in the various "cures" (TIME, May 19 and June 4), the solidest work is being done, as usual, by the concerted efforts of medical research. A British Empire campaign against cancer was organ-ized last week by the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, to which Lord Athol-stan has given an additional $100,000.
