Indeed, the platform, like the convention, promises to be a near-perfect reflection of Ronald Reagan. When he strides up to the beige-and-brown podium Thursday night to give his acceptance speech, he is expected to aim more at voters' hearts than heads, striking many of the themes that have been the hallmarks of his presidency: optimism, patriotism, traditional values.
