Died. Samuel Spewack, 72, co-author with his wife Bella of dozens of stage and screen comedies since the 1920s; in Manhattan. The two met as young newspaper reporters in New York. "Sam really fell in love with my writing," Bella later quipped. Masters of the formula farce, the Spewacks conquered Broadway with such hits as Boy Meets Girl (1935) and My Three Angels (1953).
