...when Osama bin Laden was spotted in Afghanistan by an unarmed Predator, the U.S. government sped up a program to fit each aircraft with two Hellfire missiles. Awesome sounding but benign looking, the 27-ft.-long Predator is painted a dull gray and shaped like an upside-down spoon with wings. The drone is made of lightweight composite plastic and metal and has a tiny, propeller-driven engine--adapted from a snowmobile's--with a decidedly unimpressive top speed of only 150 m.p.h. Rogers' previous craft, the supersonic F-15 jet fighter, can fly up to 900 m.p.h...

...change in schedule or space," says Maureen O'Brien, a developmental psychologist. For younger babies, the challenge is maintaining their schedule. Mentally scroll through your routine and remember to bring any item intimately involved with getting your child to eat, sleep or settle down: a favorite spoon, a comfort toy or a familiar lullaby tape...

It was fully manufactured by a studio that believed that they could put me on their posters and turn me into their bottle of Coca-Cola, their product," he says, his fingers fidgeting with anything he can find--a pencil, his scraggly beard, his beat-up old Samsung phone, the buttons on his army-style coat. "I hadn't figured out properly how to act, and all of a sudden...

...audience alone is entertaining enough to justify the price of admission for most “indie rock” shows. Tight denim, prized thrift shop finds, and purposefully mussed-up hairdos adorned the high school girls and forty-something hipsters alike at last weekend’s Spoon concert at the Avalon in Boston. Known best for their spare sound and danceable backbeats, the foursome from Texas delivered on both counts, mixing most of the songs on their recent “Gimme Fiction” LP, with at least one song from each of their past releases. Luckily...

...download, however. At the moment, Sprint says it has 250,000 songs for sale. I did some random searching, and had a hard time pinpointing what, exactly, this 250,000 consisted of. Searches for Dire Straits, Jamiroquai or the Decemberists turned up nothing; searches for Rolling Stones and Spoon gave me one song each (actually, a Dr. Dre remix of a Stones song and a Spoon track from a TV show compilation). I did find more songs when I typed in 10,000 Maniacs, Steely Dan, Eminem and Wilco...
