Long before the World War, Miss Sears was known as a pedestrian champion when visiting friends in California. You did not mention in your article that the aristocratic Miss Sears once hiked alone from the Burlingame Country Club to Hotel Del Monte-over 100 miles-escorted by a motorcade of sport-loving friends.
