Even Gaetan Dugas -- the Canadian flight attendant known as "Patient Zero," whom Shilts identified as a key early spreader of the disease -- is here simply a suave narcissist, not (as Shilts implies) an almost criminally reckless libertine who knowingly spread the disease...
