...labor peace and rationality. The owners have a team salary cap. The players have free agency. "The system has worked well for players," says union executive director Gene Upshaw, who negotiated the deal. "We want the same thing as other entertainers. We want the same thing as Bruce Springsteen, Madonna and Bill Cosby, the right to sell our talent to the highest bidder...
This just in--love isn't so brotherly in Philadelphia. Set in a time period when the streets of Philadelphia were better known for socialites than for Springsteen songs, The Philadelphia Story centres on the past, present, and possible future loves of spoiled ice princess Tracy Lord. With some strong performances from its cast, director Katya Nelhams-Wright's production is an interesting look at a troubled upper-echelon family. Evoking the feel and problems of this uppercrust, The Philadelphia Story suffers from some awkwardness and unbelievability, but ultimately conveys a poignant tale of love and loss...

If Dylan, Morrison or some other rock-'n'-roll hero ever calls in sick for a Hall of Fame gig, Counting...
Still, some songs stand out: "Don't Talk" from In My Tribe is beautiful and haunting in a way that it is not on the album; Bruce Springsteen's "Because the Night" is a treat for anyone who hasn't seem them do it live; and the album's closer, "Noah's Dove," is truly remarkable--chilling, restrained and passionate all at once. However, on the whole you're left with the sense that while this disk is good, maybe it's not good enough for a whole new album of the same material that was just released last year...
