LONDON, June 18. - The Cornell crew rowed over the full Henley course for the first time last evening. The regular racing crew were in the boat and pulled at the rate of 45 strokes to the minute most of the way, finishing with a spurt of 48. Capt. Bradshaw and Mr. Stillwell of the London Rowing Club witnessed the trial, and agreed that the pace maintained was excellent, though they thought the conditions highly favorable. ...annual class race was rowed yesterday afternoon and resulted in a well-earned victory for the juniors. The other two crews were about as closely matched as possible, and it was only by a magnificent spurt near the finish that the sophomores managed to cut down the senior's lead, and take second place by a scant half length. The race was on the whole one of the most exciting that has been rowed for several years, and the result was doubtful until the finish line had been crossed. Favored by the shelter afforded by the Surrey shore, which the Oxfords selected after winning the toss, their boat was rapidly increasing its lead over the Cambridge shell, and they were rowing easily. At Craven Cottage Oxford was a length ahead. Cambridge was spurting, but could not gain against Oxford's long, sweeping stroke. Shooting Hammersmith Bridge, Oxford was still a length ahead. Cambridge made another spurt, with the same result as before...
