He's nursing a rare dram, and only a stuffed stag's head on the wall stares in our direction. But his days of anonymity may be numbered. Murdoch is talking enthusiastically about recording with producer Tony Hoffer (Beck, Air) in Los Angeles between games of football with Robbie Williams and other Brit expats. ...shame on me. A number of second-chance opportunities helped Fairfield (1-2) beat the Harvard women’s basketball team (2-2) 71-58 in the Crimson’s home opener on Sunday afternoon in Cambridge, dropping the Crimson to 0-4 all-time against the Stags at Lavietes Pavilion. ...rarely off-key. His Adirondack paintings have the astringent completeness of the Michigan woods in early Hemingway. Perhaps no painting has ever conveyed a hunter's anxiety better than Hound and Hunter, with its flustered boy in the dinghy trying to get a rope on a shot stag's antlers before its corpse sinks, lurching to and fro in a cave of forest darkness and disturbed silver ripples...
