...President, since just about anyone can run and so many do. To judge by polls, people believe that the sex scandal should have been reported but that the media overplayed it. Fewer editors today would probably defend, as many at the outset did, the Miami Herald's stakeout of Hart's private residence. Though the public hankers to know the facts and the gossip too, it has made clear its concern for individual privacy from a prying press...
MOST MIRACULOUS TURNAROUND Disney, long in the box-office cellar, which has turned out a string of hits, including Outrageous Fortune, Stakeout and Three Men and a Baby, since Honchos Michael Eisner, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Richard Frank took over just three years...

Detectives Lecce and Reimers (Richard Dreyfuss and Emilio Estevez) are a pair of laughing policemen assigned to keep watch on the home of Maria McGuire (the delicious Madeleine Stowe), former girlfriend of a psychopathic criminal (Aidan Quinn) who has lately, bloodily escaped from jail. Somehow Lecce is snookered into love with the lady he is snarking on. Disguised as a telephone repairman, he insinuates himself into her pad, her bed, her heart. Dreyfuss is terrific in the role, abrupt and vulnerable; Estevez is adroit as a man comically appalled...
