Princeton defeated the University relay team in the mile relay race at the Johns Hopkins Fifth Regiment games Saturday. The event was the best of the evening, and was thrilling from start to finish. Forty-four candidates for the University and 23 for the Freshman baseball teams reported at the first meeting of the season, held in the Varsity Club last night. Captain G. E. Abbot '17 announced that battery practice for both University and Freshman players will start today at 2 o'clock, and the fielding candidates will be called out two weeks later. Four mission study groups will start in the second half-year under the auspices of the Christian Association. The first meeting of Group IV will be held at 52 Mt. Auburn street tonight.
