Stone's School won the toss and chose the outside course, along the Cambridge bank, on account of the more favorable tide. Stone's got a lead of half a length at the start, which it maintained for the first half-mile. Here the Sophomores increased their stroke from 30 to 32 and at Harvard bridge caught up with their opponents.
