BALTIMORE, MD., May 25.- Reports have been current during the last few days to the effect that, owing to the failure of the Baltimore and Ohio Rail-road to meet its dividend obligations, Johns Hopkins University is in a bad financial state. Altogether the University holds about $1,350,000 of preferred and common stock of the road. A general meeting of the citizens of Baltimore will be held tomorrow for the purpose of starting a subscription list, with $250,000 in view.
