Along a major turnpike in south Florida, most stations would not sell gas to anyone with more than half a tankful, and then limited sales to about $3 at 90? per gallon-barely enough to reach the next turnpike station. In eight counties, including Miami's Bade, an odd-even plan was announced for sales.
