Charles Osborne Parish of Clarinda, Iowa, died of pneumonia on January 3 at Chicago, where he was practicing law. Though but just twenty-one when he came to Harvard, he had already received the degree of A.M. from the University of Chicago. His modest and manly simplicity won him staunch friends among teachers and students, and his abilities were quickly recognized.
