About 100 candidates for the University and Freshman crews reported for voluntary practice on the machines at the Newell boathouse yesterday afternoon. Although no attempt was made to grade the men, each candidate was given individual instruction by Coaches Wray and Stephenson. This voluntary work will continue until the mid-year examination period and Coach Wray will be at the boathouse every afternoon except Saturdays. The tank will be opened on Monday or Tuesday.
