Voluntary rowing practice for candidates for the University and Freshman crews was held for the first time in the Newell boathouse yesterday afternoon, over 70 men reporting. Coaches Wray and Stephenson were present and gave the men individual instruction on the machines. This voluntary work will continue until the mid-year examination period and Coach Wray will be on hand every afternoon except Saturdays. Regular practice in the tank and on the machines will begin on February 12. It is expected that hereafter a much larger number of men will avail themselves of this opportunity for preliminary work...
Voluntary practice for candidates for the University and Freshman crews will begin, at the Newell boathouse today. The boathouse will be open daily between 10 and 12.30 o'clock and from 2.30 to 6 o'clock. Coaches Wray, Stephenson and Brown will be on hand at these hours to direct the work. All men who can should come out, and Freshmen, whether they have had any previous training or not, are particularly requested to do so, as this is an excellent opportunity to receive individual coaching.
