There were no coaches until 1881, and then it was only spasmodic until Arthur Cumnock, of the Class of '91, got George Adams and George Stewart to start a coaching system at Harvard in 1890. Harvard won that year by 12 to 6. in spite of the fact that Yale boasted of the great Hefileilnger and Bum McClung (later Treasurer of the United States) on its team.
