Cartmell '16, who was substitute shortstop two years ago, but was not in College last year, is back again and may be used at third or short. Cartmell is a first-class fielder but weak with the stick. The same is true of C. S. Reed '17 who held down the shortfield last year. T. H. Enwright '18 shows some promise but is as yet far from a finished player. F. G. Fripp '16 may be used at third although he is better in the outfield...

Most of the practice during the fall will be spent in developing accurate stick-work and in mastering the fundamental principles of the game. By reporting regularly for the autumn work, men with no experience can develop enough skill to become members of the team in the spring. Only 15 men reported yesterday for voluntary lacrosse practice. S. E. Nash '16 and G. F. Beale '16 instructed the men in stick work in preparation for the "scrub series" which will be played in a couple of weeks. More men are expected to report today. Freshmen should come out early in order to gain experience in the game before the season starts next spring. The Athletic Association will supply sticks to Freshmen...
