Play began at twenty minutes to three. Harvard had the east end of the field and the kick off. The ball was passed to Lee who made thirty-five yards by a very pretty run. Upton rushed twice in succession and gained fifteen more yards. Stickney ran across the line with the ball and made the first touchdown in thirty seconds after play began. No goal. Score 4-0. The ball was brought to the twenty-five yard line and McDonald made a good rush. On the third down Wesleyan was given five yards for Harvard's off side play...

The full-backs kicked back and forth for several minutes, neither side making any gain. At last Harvard adopted rushing tactics again, and White, Stickney, Lee and Blanchard took the play well down towards Wesleyan's line. Lee made a superb rush to the five yard line.
