...operated ones. I reminded Peter that my father, an orthopedist himself whom Peter knows well, had this fracture, and he treated it closed. I reminded him that closed treatment was not perfect - but neither were the results with surgery. I would expect Carol's wrist to be somewhat stiff and occasionally achy either way. A scientist could appreciate that there is ultimately very little pure data here. Surgery would be my choice if and only if the doctor couldn't get (and hold) good position with a closed reduction and casting - and I thought he probably could. Finally I told...
...fact, it cut to the heart of the Obama-foreign policy frustrations. Clinton's tough talk on Iran got most of the U.S. headlines, but her position on Gaza was far more important to the Islamic participants at Doha, especially the Arabs. For now, I'm mostly sticking with sneakers, but I might try my barefoot experiment again. Maybe in the spring, or whenever my toes thaw...
...Harvard men’s tennis team built on the momentum it garnered last weekend to come up with its first win of the season this Saturday. The Crimson faced stiff opposition from programs that are at the same level as Harvard. The No. 61 Crimson invited No. 62 Brigham Young University, No. 67 Mississippi State University, and DePaul University to the Harvard Kick Off Tournament. This even competition allowed the Crimson to further assess its progress thus far and fine-tune its play before the team starts defending its ECAC crown...
