...upon, pending final settlement by the Council of the League of Nations. It was not until February 3 of this year that an equitable decision was arrived at. The Poles, acting under instructions from the League occupied that part of the neutral zone allotted to them, but met with stiff resistance from the Lithuanians. Strictly speaking, Lithuania has incurred financial and economic penalties by resisting the decision of the League, although the time is hardly opportune for the enforcement of such punishment. From a legal point of view, however, neither country is bound to accept outside arbitration...
...twenty minutes before nine three men besides myself were seated in the stiff-backed wooden pews. We looked like intruders upon the privacy of the empty pews--sedate and decorous rows conducting themselves as proper pews should. It was so quiet here that the miniature congregation glanced up started when an elderly man stole noiselessly along an aisle and stealthily changed the hymn number on the announcement board. The brilliant individual work of these players, which largely explains Yale's record of six victories and only one defeat, may offset the effective team-work of the Crimson Freshmen. The only opponent that both teams have met this year is Andover. The Yale yearlings downed the schoolboys by a score of 6-0, as compared with the 6-3 victory...
Coach Chase gave his men a rest the end of last week but has held stiff scrimmages for the last three days in an effort to put them in condition once more. The line-up remains the same a it was in the game with New Hampshire State Freshman, but Combs is likely to be substituted at right guard for Elberfeld...
Practice for the University hockey squad yesterday, the first since the Crimson victory over Milwaukee last Wednesday, was featured by the return of Larocque, who has been ill for over two weeks. The squad took part in a stiff scrimmage against the Boston University sextet, in which the Crimson defensive combination did excellent work. Larocque did not scrimmage, and it is improbable that he will start at his regular position at center against B. A. A. tomorrow night. There is, however, a very good chance that he will play at least part of the contest...
