Again, Wedell-Williams. A yellow-&-red monoplane shot up from Floyd Bennett Field, N. Y. one morning last week, tore through 2,500 mi. of stiff west wind, landed at Burbank, Calif. 12 hr. 22 min. later, more than two hours under the westbound record. The pilot was big-framed Roscoe Turner who wears a swagger uniform of his own design and used to keep a mascot lion.
