Your item on new styles for this fall [ARTS & MEDIA, Sept. 8] included Vogue editor Lauren duPont's remarks on shoes with stiletto heels. Her comment that "they're sleek and sexy; we will have to bear the pain" was ridiculous. Just who are the unfortunate "we" to whom she refers?
