...should like to point out a few facts in connection with the movement recently rejuvenated by the Junior class, toward installing electric lights in Hollis, Holworthy, North Matthews, Stoughton, and Thayer. It is a thing which many former classes have tried to accomplish, and one that will inevitably come. Great stress has been laid lately on the idea of making the Senior dormitories more attractive; here is certainly an opportunity to do so. It would be a gift which would last as long as the buildings themselves, as a memorial to the present generation in college...

Although the Junior smoker held in the Small Dining Room of the Union last evening was not very largely attended, practically a unanimous vote was passed in favor of installing electric lights in the Senior dormitories. Figures were presented which gave the cost of equipping Hollis, Holworthy, Stoughton, and Thayer, as $2900. This estimate provides for three lights in each study, and one light in each bed-room. To wire the north entry of Matthews similarly, $600 more will be needed...

Nearly 250 rooms will be open to applicants for this drawing. Thayer, Holworthy, Stoughton, and Hollis have already been filled, so that rooms in the north entry of Matthews are the only ones left in Senior dormitories.
