Upton threw better to second, but dropped two third strikes. Hollister pitched a strong game up to the ninth innings, giving only two base hits. In the ninth he began by giving Cook his base on balls, struck out Upton, and gave Highlands and Hovey bases on balls. Hallowell, Frothingham and Dickinson all got hits, bringing in for the innings four runs, and doubling the score. Williams got her only two runs...

Harvard beat the Thomson-Houston nine yesterday in a rather tedious game, 10 to 2. Harvard took a remarkable brace in batting, having only one strike-out and eleven base hits, with a total of twenty-five. Five three-baggers were lined out, and one two-bagger. But the thing which was most noticeable about the Harvard team was the entire lack of knowledge about base-running. Only two bases were stolen, and in a number of cases the men were caught napping, and thrown out. This is a serious lack, and will do a great deal of harm...

Brown opened up with a strike-out, followed by two runs, mostly on errors. Tenney was left at second, Magill struck out, and Weeks went out on an easy grounder to Dickinson. This ended the scoring for Brown, although three times she had men on third with only one man out, and once again with two out. In the fifth, they got three men on bases, and it looked as though they would get a couple of runs, but Weeks knocked a pop fly to Highlands, and made the third...
