Harvard defeated the Amherst college team on Holmes field yesterday by a score of seven to one. Harvard braced up and played a very creditable game throughout, and clearly outdid her opponents at every point. The batting was much stronger than usual, but the men showed a decided tendency to be caught napping when at the bat. The outfielders played well, and the work of the infielders, with the exception of Quackenboss, who had an off day, was quick and clean.
