...work of the eleven since the Chicago game has been very light, but the improvement has been steadily advancing and the team work is now satisfactory to the most pessimistic of Yale's supporters. Today Yale is supposed to have a stronger set of backs and Harvard to have a slight advantage in the experience of its line...
Yesterday afternoon, the Freshman eleven was defeated by Worcester Academy 18 to 6. Outside the class games, this is the first defeat the Freshmen have received, and though virtually a stronger team, they were beaten on account of fumbling and the general lifelessness of their play. From the start, the Worcester eleven played a strong, fast game, which seemed to rattle the Freshmen, and it was not until the second half that Harvard was able to score. The latter team was much heavier and reported stronger, but the Harvard players developed a very excellent interference and scored by their clever end plays. Wells and Moore played a strong game for Harvard, while Butler and Haines did best...
