Fifth inning. For Harvard, after two men were out, Smith got his base on a muff by McCarthy and was brought in by Coolidge's superb home run hit between left and centre field. Baker flied out to McCarthy. For Dartmouth, F. Nettleton made a base hit; Thomas struck three times but Allen dropped the ball. As Thomas did not start immediately for first base, Allen threw to Coolidge in hope of making a double play.
