...your story on new bus lines [Nov. 23]: The amazing, low-cost fares offered by MegaBus and others come with a trade-off, terrible customer service. As a thrifty college student, I was thrilled when MegaBus started a route from Minneapolis back home to Milwaukee. The bus was regularly late. MegaBus lost me as a customer when it switched my departure time one evening without notifying me, and I waited until 1 a.m. for a bus that never showed up. When I tried to rectify the situation, I got nowhere. It's not worth the hassle...

...logged a record 480,000 hits in one day in early November; a slow day brings half as much traffic, according to owner Peter Frank, a sophomore at Wesleyan University who runs ACB out of his dorm room. The 19-year-old English major defends the site as a "student-controlled discussion space where the communities dictate what's talked about." In addition to stories, he wrote poetry, an extended history of Chinese literature and hundreds of essays, including small masterpieces like his eloquent 1926 tirade against the warlord government of the time for gunning down unarmed patriotic student protesters. Yet, despite her lack of on-the-job experience, she and other Ozawa princesses are not political novices. A former psychology student who holds a black belt in karate, Fukuda at age 23 became a health care activist after discovering she was infected with the hepatitis virus by a contaminated blood transfusion she received as a newborn. She was just one of thousands of Japanese who received contaminated clotting agents in blood in the 1970s...

...part of the tradition of the University of Detroit Jesuit High School. U of D has had a strong influence on my life beyond high school. In 2005, as a college graduate and part of the Alumni Volunteer Corps, I returned to the school to donate a year, doing student teaching, coaching and offering help where needed. Even though I have moved on to Chicago for stronger work opportunities, I maintain contact with numerous U of D alums, and I cherish what the school has done for me as a man and as a contributing member of society. Thank...
