This show could be called "The Library Bites Back." Just as the Internet is like a giga-library, full of useful information, this show is like a micro-Internet, full of stuff that's fascinating and pointless. Old, quaint erotica, Jack Kerouac's crutches, and an asbestos-bound copy of Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury's novel about book burning, are among the eccentric treasures. Then there's the anti-Nazi literature hidden in tea bags, above, which demonstrates one of the library's main advantages over the Web: it can prove such things existed. --By Belinda Luscombe

...WHITE HOUSE SAYS The GAO failed to appreciate how annoying the sticky substance--"a mixture of Vaseline and glue"--actually was. The pranksters hid the stuff under desk drawers, so unsuspecting workers got slimed. One Dick Cheney staffer "got the substance on her pants...

...scoreless, after a linesman controversially disallowed a Spanish goal. Suddenly, the biggest game her country had ever played was to be decided by penalty kicks. Jo knew this was the part where she was going to awaken, because dreams always end before you get to the really good stuff. This time, though, a miraculous reality intervened. After Spanish midfielder Joaquin muffed his side's fourth penalty, Korean captain Hong Myung Bo drove the ball into the top of the net, clinching victory. "I am not sure what is real and what is a dream," said Jo, as more than...

...dove for her pillow in her Hong Kong hotel room after a rough day traveling, Swedish businesswoman Margareta Anderssen spotted something moving on the desk. Inside a small bowl was some colorful plastic sea-stuff, sand and, unmistakably, a live, tail-flapping goldfish. "Hi!" read a message stuck on the bowl. "What am I doing here?" the cheeky note asked. "Let's face it. You're in Hong Kong alone and maybe you need an ear to talk to at night. I'm a great listener. I'm here as long as you want me, but if you're tired...

...this from what Tehran normally looks like, I'm not sure, but apparently there were especially powerful American-flag flames. But I'm glad they beat us, since we wouldn't have enjoyed it if we had won. We don't throw ticker-tape parades for beating Iran at stuff, because if we did, we'd be short on ticker tape. The only thing we could possibly lose to Iran at besides soccer is subjugating women. Now that Russia isn't important, there's no one for us to get juiced about. The Taliban, unfortunately, don't even have...
