Timothy, upon finally emerging from his drug-induced stupor, is rather implausibly and with little comment sent to live with a neighbor, with "piggychops" and his family left hanging. Even the Constable is left with inadequate closure after being largely ignored for the last portion of the novel...
Like it or not, drinking is a mainstay of college life. Ideally, alcohol would be consumed responsibly and in moderation and alcohol poisoning, aspiration or falling off roofs in a drunken stupor (all causes of the deaths of various college students over the past several years) would never occur.
