...plenty of Shavian paradoxical comment on Humanity if anyone cares to look for it, but certainly it is not thrown out into the audience's lap. Bouquets by the carload should go to Leslie Howard and Wendy Hiller for their performances. Howard's comedy is in his best style, and Miss Hiller has proven again that Broadway too often misses its chance to "discover" a great actress hanging around their casting offices...

That race showed that the Tiger oarsmen have passed through the kindergarten stage of learning a new stroke. The disturbance caused by the advent of a different style, the "Washington stroke," has calmed down and apparently Princeton rowing has finished changing horses in the middle of the stream...
