...Freshman Glee, Banjo and Mandolin Clubs will give a concert for the benefit of the class crew in Brattle Hall, this evening at eight o'clock. All these clubs have taken great pains with their practice, and the concert promises to be a success in every way. For the Glee Club a song has been written by one of the freshmen, and set to some of the Obispah music. The program is given below...
...practice has not been without good results for the clubs have all worked themselves into excellent shape. For a freshman club the glee club is singing remarkably well, and the mandolin club has shown that the experiment of having a freshman mandolin club can be made a distinct success. The banjo club too, we understand, is playing very well, and will give an excellent concert this evening. There will be a special attraction at this concert in the form of a Ninety-five crew song set to some music from last year's Hasty Pudding play...
Probably the greatest surprise of the race was not so much Ninety-four's success as the excellent showing made by the freshmen. It will serve as a great incentive to hard work for the race with Yale and Columbia. As the crew has shown what it is capable of, it may rest assured that nothing but victory will satisfy the college in the coming race...
There is every indication that the Open Meeting of the Harvard Athletic Association on May 7 will be a tremendous success. Up to 10 o'clock last evening over 110 entries had been received, many of them from prominent athletes. G. C. Taylor, who holds the world's record for the two-mile bicycle race, has entered, and it is probable that E. C. Moen, J. P. Lee, W. Dohrn, the great middle distance man, Downs and other noted athletes will contest...

The full list of entries will be published in the CRIMSON tomorrow morning. It is encouraging to note all these signs of success for the first open meeting which the H. A. A. holds - for everything points to an open meeting which will surpass in interest any which has been held for some time in this part of New England...
