Under the present able management the success of the last two years bids fair to continue. With a permanent director of recognized ability, and a permanent endowment of sufficient amount to put the school upon a sound financial basis, the continued prosperity of this school will be a question beyond any doubt. This afternoon the lacrosse twelve leave for Princeton to play their first championship game of the season. As in foot-ball, only one game is played with every other college, and so the successful outcome of every match is a necessary requisite for winning the championship. The other two games of the series, those with Yale and New York University, will be played in Cambridge, and here the twelve will receive warm support. ...spring concert of the Glee Club and Pierian Sodality, Wednesday evening 8th, was a success in every way. The orchestral members of the Pierian and the glees of the club showed careful training on the part of the leaders. In respect of shading and delicacy both organizations show much improvement since the fall concert. A welcome member was the Larghetto, by Prof. Paine, written as a trio for piano and strings. It is as pleasing as a concert piece as it is remarkable as a composition. We hope that the Pierian will not fail to continue in this branch...
...benefit concert of the Glee Club and Pierian took place last evening and was a deserved success, both in the selections which were rendered and the size of the audience. These concerts are becoming more and more favorably looked upon by the students and the people of Cambridge, who are always ready to pass an evening in as pleasant a way as is afforded by the concert of these two societies...
