Congratulations to the Sophomore Club for their success in turning the tables on the Freshmen in the debate of Monday evening. The victory is one of which they can well be proud, since, as we have mentioned several times before, Sophomore members of the University Debating Club are not eligible for their class team. Thus the organization whose representative have succeeded in defeating the whole debating strength of 1901 is representative of a portion of a class which in previous years has been outside the pale of debate...

Such an arrangement would exclude those close relations between the spectators and the classes which have always been found so essential to the success of college exercises. Let Seniors look at the old place and consider the law laid down by the Corporation, and they will see clearly that there is no room for improvement over the ill success of last year. The courses which lie open are either to move to a location which will satisfy the Corporation, and where those who have considered the matter agree that suitable exercises can be held, or to remain with no chance of improvement and see '99 or 1900 forced...
...opportunity is now offered to act on this proposition and establish a precedent for the future. It would be most fitting to show last year's 'Varsity nine that their improvement and ultimate success is still thoroughly appreciated. We would therefore suggest that steps be taken toward starting a general fund to which everyone should subscribe a little, and present the nine with cups in commemoration of their victories...
About two hundred and fifty men have signed the books, and at least fifty more should do so today. All those who have signed already and have not yet purchased their tickets will please be sure to do so today. The dinner promises to be a big success and everyone who possibly can should attend...
