Professor Wendell will sail for Europe, October 13, on the "Cymric." His duties will call for two lectures a week at the Sorbonne from November 1 until the middle of March, and lectures at the universities of Dijon, Lille, Bordeaux, Grenoble, Lyons and Caen, until July. Owing to the success of the French lectureships established by J. H. Hyde '98, of New York, at the University and elsewhere in the United States, Mr. Hyde has offered to found a similar course at the Sorbonne, on American literature and institutions.
