...tabloids, blogs and social networks have been all a-Twitter with speculation about Brittany Murphy, the 32-year-old actress who died Sunday morning in her West Hollywood home. Were prescription drugs the culprit or hard drugs? (No illegal medication was found in her home, but, police said, large amounts of prescription drugs were in her body.) Bulimia? Depression? Is this a Heath Ledger death or a John Belushi? Long before an official report could be issued, Perez Hilton decried what he assumed to be her reckless lifestyle. Other columnists blamed the vulturous showbiz media for not heeding her pleas...

...Obamas have attended Sunday services in Washington three times this year - once at the predominantly African-American 19th Street Baptist Church, and twice at St. John's Episcopal Church across Lafayette Square from the White House. Asked at Tuesday's White House briefing whether the First Family is still searching for a local church to join, press secretary Robert Gibbs responded: "The President has attended fairly regularly up at Camp David a church that he's comfortable in and has enjoyed attending." ...what does Tiger prize? This is, after all, one of the world's most secretive athletes: a billionaire who christened his yacht Privacy, a star who shrank from the spotlight while building sport's most lucrative brand. For years his statements have been as bland and scripted as his Sunday tournament garb. But even with his myth punctured and his personal life in tatters, Tiger can still lean on his talent. Eurostar officials said Sunday that the tiny flakes appear to have penetrated the air filters on the locomotive's engine blocks and then melted when the trains entered the heated tunnel, causing the electrical systems to short out. "It was lighter than normal, fluffier, and the temperature inside the tunnel and the humidity was higher than normal," Nick Mercer, Eurostar's commercial director, told the media...

Politics have unraveled the Fonseka-Rajapaksa alliance. In his interview with TIME, Fonseka repeated charges, first published in a Sri Lankan newspaper, the Sunday Leader, that Gotabaya Rajapaksa had given orders that top LTTE commanders not be allowed to surrender. "This is well known to all those who were there in the field," Fonseka said. "[The Defenwe Secretary] was supposed to have said, 'Whether anybody comes with white flags or no, finish off everybody.' I was the Army Commander, they never passed that message to me, never even consulted me. I only came to know this after two days after...
