...workout plan. Just five years later, after stints in the bushes of the Arena League and N.F.L. Europe, Warner turned in one of the greatest single-seasons ever. He threw for over 4,000 yards, and tossed 41 touchdown passes, while leading the moribund St. Louis Rams to a Super Bowl victory. Warner won the regular season and Super Bowl MVP awards, and two years later, in 2001, he won another MVP while throwing for nearly 5,000 yards. The Rams, nicknamed "The Greatest Show on Turf," reached the Super Bowl again, though they lost to the New England Patriots...
...year later, Warner led the Cardinals - yes, those Cardinals - to the Super Bowl, where he would have won another title, and MVP, had the Pittsburgh Steelers not rallied late in the game. This season, Warner's final game wasn't pretty, a lopsided 45-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints two weeks ago. But his penultimate performance will be lauded at his Hall of Fame enshrinement. And because the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts are in the midst of prepping for the Super Bowl, their all-star...

Fining players who invent dubious injuries to duck out would be a start, although making a consequential dent in a superstar athlete's salary might be tough. At minimum, moving the game back to the Sunday following the Super Bowl seems like a no-brainer. Teams get to championships in part by having some of the game's best players, and those players should be able to participate without worrying about injuring themselves before the Big Dance. Adjusting the rules to resemble a regular game would improve audience interest immensely...
...Marzano DOP tomatoes and lovingly fermented dough, is better than conventional delivery pie. The famous line about pizza - that, like sex, even when it's bad it's still pretty good - is now as manifestly untrue about pizza as it is about sex. (See the best and worst Super Bowl commercials...
