...Holmes Field, Saturday, Princeton received its fourth defeat by Harvard this season. About 2,000 people witnessed the game, which was remark-able for fine work of Bates. After the first inning, in which Harvard went to pieces and made a pure gift of two runs to Princeton, the support accorded Bates was excellent. The field work of both nines was good, Princeton excelling in this respect. The visitors could do nothing with Bates, eleven men striking out and two only reaching first on safe hits. The umpiring of McLean was a trille erratic, his decisions on strikes being somewhat...

...which instructors and students alike have an interest. The committee wish to know what are the habits of exercise and the opinions of students of every sort; of those who take no active part in athletics, or do not exercise at all, as well as of those who witness, support, or enter athletic contests. ...Lacrosse team. In no way can they be balmed for losing the championship this year, for they have worked hard and conscientiously through the spring and deserved better success. If any one is to be blame, it is the college itself, which has never given to lacrosse the support the game merits, either financially or by furnishing candidates for the team, or by backing the team properly in its matches with other teams. There is little excuse for this, as the game is a thoroughly interesting one, and when a team works as untiringly as the Lacrosse team has done...

...freshmen have so far this year shown themselves so thoroughly alive and enthusiastic over the interests of their teams that it would be truly a shame should they not support their nine heartily when they play Yale next Saturday. A book has already been placed at Leavitt and Peirce's for the signatures of those intending to make the trip, and nothing should deter every freshman who can possibly go to do so. The encouragement infused into a team by the presence and cheering of a large number of their class-mates is a potent factor of success...
