Died. George Joseph Demotte, Manhattan and Paris antiquarian, art dealer, near Chaumont-sur-Tharonne, France. Returned from hunting, he was killed by the accidental discharge of a friend's rifle. Last Spring, he brought suit for libel against Sir Joseph Duveen, English art dealer, alleging that the latter stated that an enameled Virgin and Child had not, as Demotte represented, belonged to Queen Isabella the Catholic, of Spain.
