After receiving a tip from a usually reliable informant, an FBI agent tails a suspected gambler and bookmaker for five days. The phone numbers correspond with those that the informant claims are used for taking bets. Is there enough evidence for a magistrate to issue a search warrant...
...these children sometimes become dwarfs is unknown. Some researchers suspect the pituitary gland, the body's governor of growth. Others believe that continuous anxiety makes a victim's digestive system less able to absorb food. Although doctors see a connection between a baby's mental state and growth, they cannot yet show how an emotional problem becomes a physical one. They do know that no matter how deprivation dwarfs thrive in a hospital, the spurt often ends when they return to the homes that started the trouble...
Astronomers do not yet know why the Crab pulsar flashes, but some suspect that its bursts of light are generated by charged particles in its intense magnetic field. With these new clues, scientists hope to be able to learn more...

But the physician-metaphysician has assured himself of a place in intellectual history with his chilling thesis: that insanity may be no more than a reflection of insane society...

If you don't think we live up to this ideal, and we often don't, you should criticize us and thereby strengthen us. But I beseech you not to start the dangerous game of interfering in the selection of Faculty members, for that is a game that any number can play. Robert...
