This approach has already been considered by a special committee of the Student Council that is now studying the entire athletic system. Abraham F. Lowenthal '61, chairman of the group, said yesterday that the value of intercollegiate participation in some sports would be weighed against their cost. Mental Charts. Darvas' system is tailored to his job. Since he has to do trading from wherever he is dancing (he recently completed an Asian tour) he ignores tips, financial stories and brokers' letters, has never been in a broker's office. Basically, his approach is that of a chartist: he watches price and volume. But the only charts he keeps are in his head. He studies the weekly stock tables in Barren's, receives a nightly wire from his broker giving the high, low and closing of stocks he is following, as well...

Williams claims that his script is a study of Southern degeneracy and of the influence of foreign blood on a corrupt system. In point of fact, it is a telescoping of two earlier short plays--Twenty-seven Wagons Full of Cotton and The Long Stay Cut Short--and, for Williams at least, is a second-rate work. The story concerns itself with Baby Doll, a delicious but nearly brainless child of twenty, who is legally though not in fact the wife of Archie Lee Meighan, a middle-aged owner of a broken-down cotton gin. Goaded beyond endurance...
