Maisie (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer) is quite a girl. A tank-town showgirl from Denver, but no blowzer, she is frank, fresh, full-blown, natural, vibrantly on the up & up. Maisie lets the cinemaudience know early that life has braced her for a right uppercut and a left to the jaw, so being stranded in Big Horn, Wyo. with only 15? during rodeo week puts no undue strain on her morale. She takes a stand behind the counter of a shooting gallery, goes gunning for a big, silent ranch hand (Robert Young), misses his heart with her first try. Happily pursuing...

Upon a 36-foot, red-satin bed called "The Ardent Couch" an unclad Venus lies dreaming. Of her four uninhibited dreams, the first-an underwater vision called "Venus's Pre-natal Château Beneath the Water"-is the real crowd-catcher. A long glass tank is filled with such subaqueous décor as a fireplace, typewriters with funguslike rubber keys, rubber telephones, a man made of rubber ping-pong bats, a mummified cow, a supine rubber woman painted to resemble the keyboard of a piano. ...Foch kept mistaking a trench "war of position" fof an open "war of maneuver," because the campaign to take the Dardanelles got under way too slowly. Britain's Sir Douglas Haig threw away a chance for a decisive breakthrough when he allowed the new invention of the tank to appear on the western front prematurely, without adequate support, in numbers far too small to be effective. If Brilliant Mind Winston Churchill and Brilliant Mind Lloyd George, whose ideas were squelched by the military men, had had full scope in 1914-18, the War might have taken a different course...
