Older & Soberer. One thing had not returned-the sloppy drinking of the raccoon-coat and hip-flask era. The post-game crowds gathered nostalgically at their favorite spots-Mory's, the Old Heidelberg and Hofbrau in New Haven; the Yankee Doodle Taproom in Princeton; Metzger's and Floutz's in Ann Arbor. But they saw little student shenanigans. Many of Michigan's coeds broke dates with their steadies to go to strictly nonalcoholic parties with some of the 414 West Point cadets who came with the team. Schirmer, Inc. and Miller Music, Inc. were disputing which had the publication rights...

The King's signal flags will be draped in the taproom of an English inn; the 102-ft. solid pine mast is to be the flagpole of a country estate; and Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Brinton are taking home to South Africa two feather pillows upon which once lay the heads of King George & Queen Mary...
Brewers were most interested last week in two rival cans which raced each other into the market. Taproom champions of the thesis that beer tastes better from kegs than from bottles rarely consider how it would taste from cans. But canmakers have long toyed with the idea. Cans would stack more easily, weigh less, could be thrown away after using. The problem was to devise a lining. By last week American Can and Continental Can both thought they had the solution...
