FEARING that the American short story would be doomed if brilliant unheard of authors were denied the opportunity to have their stories published. ...ultimatum to the effect that unless Mr. Tugwell was taken out of the agricultural building he himself would resign. This may be an exaggeration, of course, of the way Mr. peek feels about it, but there is no doubt that friction has developed, and that Mr. Roosevelt has the task of bringing about harmony...

Anyone who has the task of interviewing a former actress of repute . . . might just as well be an undertaker. My idea of real happiness is to find some small corner of the world, crawl into it, and never again see my name in the paper until...

Losses by graduation and prodigals from the probation ranks alternately discourage and cheer Coach Ulen in his task of building up a worthy team this year. Although only two outstanding regulars went out of the picture by the graduation route, both of the men, B. S. Wood '33 and R. D. Fallon '33 were mainstays of the squad last year and the coach will have plenty of trouble in finding others to fill up the vacancy...
