There will be a Freshman football mass meeting in Lower Massachusetts, Thursday evening at 7.30 o'clock to cheer the team on the eve of their departure for the annual game with the Yale Freshmen, at New Haven. ...gymnastic team will begin the regular fall practice in the gymnasium this afternoon at 5.30 o'clock. ...University shooting team was defeated by Yale, at the traps on Yale Field, Saturday afternoon, by a score 224 to 223 out of a possible 250. Both teams did remarkably well considering the strong wind, and came near the intercollegiate record of 225. The best individual score was made by J. R. Yale was tied by Brown, 10 to 10, at New Haven last Saturday. The visiting team outplayed Yale at every point and might have won the game, had it been more proficient in kicking goals from touchdowns. Brown scored the first touchdown early in the game by a forward pass to Dennie, left end, after Coy had fumbled a punt. The try for goal failed.
