The teas were held at the Common Rooms of the Houses, with both John H. Finley, Master of Eliot, and Leigh Headley, Master of Leverett, and their wives, present to preside over the affairs. Also present were about ten students at each House.
At the teas, the Midshipmen were broken up into small groups, a few going with each of the students. The affairs lasted about an hour and a half, during which time the men were shown around the Houses, seeing the dining halls, libraries, students' rooms and Masters' lodgings.
